A high-speed wire-rod rolling line at Baosteel WISCO in China’s Hubei Province revamped with CISDI’s award-winning equipment is now showing world-class indicators.
CISDI supplied all line equipment for the rebuild, including its NHCD high-rigidity short-stress path rolling mill, a national patents gold medal winner in China, the high-precision flying shear and a cooling water box system.
The NHCD has become a transformative force in the global long products market, with over 4,000 stands supplied to date.
All equipment was installed at Baosteel WISCO’s workshop and has passed hot testing.
The line is now achieving a 550,000 tonnes-a-year designed production capacity. Its spring, quality carbon, cold heading, bearing and cable steel bright coil is in specifications of 5.5-22.0mm in diameter.
The maximum rolling speed achieved is 110m per second and product dimensional tolerance has been controlled to within positive and negative 0.1 mm - world-class indicators which are boosting Baosteel’s market competitiveness.
