A Chinese research achievement is set to bring about tangible economic, environmental and social benefits for the global electric heating fused salt sector.
Xi’an Huijin Tech Co’s HV induction fused-salt heater for stored energy has been evaluated as a world-class product by China’s Industrial Energy Conservation and Clean Production Association.
Huijin Tech is a subsidiary of CISDI Group and is based in Xi’an in Shaanxi Province.
Its heater has made multiple breakthroughs, resolving low voltage and resistance heating bottlenecks.
The high-voltage heater has a higher standard of efficiency - a minimum 97 per cent overall efficiency, plus greater energy conservation, stability and reliability.
Its other advantages include a direct connection with the HV grid, fewer wire losses, large single powers, greater equipment service life, a uniform and efficient heat exchange and high insulation performance.
Fused salts are quickly and precisely heated by the high-power heater, which directly applies high voltages up to 35 kilowatts.
Huijin’s heater can be widely used for new energy storage and for a thermal power plant’s rebuild. It can recover previously uncaptured waste energy and store excessive power in the off-peak demand period, in readiness for peak period consumption requirements.
