The first wire rods have been produced at a rebuilt special steels high-speed wire-rod rolling line at Maanshan Steel.
CISDI was the EPC-based service provider, fulfilling what is the most critical step forward in parent company Masteel’s upgrade programme for special steels wire-rod rolling.
The line was the first of its kind in China when it was created in 1987 for Maanshan’s plant, which is based in China’s Anhui Province.
It was rebuilt in 2003 and 2015 and its cold-heading steel products are a major brand-name in China and are renowned for their quality.
For the latest upgrade, CISDI’s team first carried out a number of site surveys to get an accurate understanding of the line’s situation and also overcame challenges posed by fragmentary data and a complicated workshop and pipeline layout.
The team made arrangements to successfully hot-test the line in a single operation and Masteel reports stable line operation and product quality.
The CISDI-rebuilt special steels high-speed wire-rod rolling line is now operational at Maanshan Steel in China’s Anhui Province
