Five flying shears have passed hot commissioning at an optimum bar rolling line at Huaigang Special Steel.
CISDI designed and manufactured the crank, rotary and combined types of flying shears (core CISDI product FSHCD).
Huaigang Special Steel, part of Shagang Group, is based in China’s Jiangsu Province.
The line produces 550,000 tonnes of round bars a year, including spring and bearing steels, in a diameter range of 20 to 80 millimetres. The shears are bringing Huaigang’s product mix and quality to a new high.
The heavy-duty crank shear features a large volume and a gantry type. Its master gear and crankshaft is designed to apply a large interference or shrink fit method to achieve high manufacturing precision. It also involved necessitated exacting taper machining and super-high-pressure hydraulic assembly techniques.
The manufacturing process was challenged by a short contractual schedule, pandemic restrictions and power rationing during China’s hot summer.
“Huaigang was impressed by our team’s outstanding professionalism and its coordination of front-end technical communication, engineering designs, manufacture and onsite technical services,” said a CISDI spokesperson.
