CISDI has been contracted to renovate a stockyard at Baowu Shaogang in China’s Guangdong Province.
CISDI is now the service provider for all main stockyards at Baowu’s major steel plants.
One lump ore yard will be rebuilt and one new ore fines yard for sintering production and two new steel pellet silos will be created at Shaogang.
The ore fines yard will be designed as a model B type. Its single span of 148 metres will be a record in China and will feature a dual reticulated shell structure. Around 70,000 square metres of the yard will be enclosed. The yard will be built via a sliding construction method relying on pre-set rails and traction and pushing units. It will be the largest of its kind in China.
The lump ore yard is being designed as shaped structures containing two individual spans of 126 metres and 110 metres. The two new end spans will lap over the existing lump ore yard. Around 30,000 square metres will be enclosed.
The design for the plant’s steel silos for pellet storage and handling represents a breakthrough in CISDI’s large ore silo structure expertise.
